THE SECONDARY CHARACTERS
Aside from the fun DJ open/close, neighborhood kids and musical artists that stop by on a regular basis,there will be on-going secondary characters including:
ZACH
Melody’s Nephew:
Zach has been on the spectrum since he was born and finds it a challenge to communicate his feelings. Zach & Melody have a very close relationship (in fact, Zach is who inspired Melody to study mindfulness/ teaching) and now Zach works part-time in the record shop (after school and on weekends) and it’s a “win/ win” situation as they both learn and grow from each other. Zach’s favorite things to do are to organize the records, sing along with the musical guests, relax in the Groove Garden, and visit the tienda next door to take pictures of the ever sassy Scratch the Cat.
TIA ELLIE
Melody’s Aunt
Tia has a massive heart, which she expresses through her incredible cooking. There’s a lot of love on the plate at her Caribbean restaurant where she and Melody connect in almost every episode … even if it’s a “drop by” to say “hey … LOVE YOU!” or “what’s the special dish/ record today?”
MAMA AMI
Mami Ami is the animated houseplant at “Melody’s Records” and is the heart and soul of the store. Mami Ami always knows the perfect thing to say to help others grow to their full potential.
EMOTRONS
When Melody was little - she created imaginary friends who helped her when she was having BIG feelings. They now “live” in the vintage pinball machine in the back of the shop and “ping, bleep, pong” when they think Melody needs some “visual guidance” to explain and understand some of the “messier” emotions we all have.
